AI clone videos

What an AI clone video actually is (and isn't)

Behind the scenes of recording an AI clone video with a phone and ring light

The first thing advisers ask about AI clone videos is whether the result will feel fake. Fair question. The second thing they ask is why they'd need one when they can just film with their phone. Both questions have the same answer, and it has to do with consistency rather than production.

What it is

An AI clone video is built from a short recording of you: your face, your voice, your mannerisms. Once that base recording exists, the system can speak new scripts in your likeness. You write (or we write, and you approve) the message. The clone delivers it.

Think of it as outsourcing the camera work, not the thinking. The ideas, the opinions and the advice are still yours. What changes is that you stop being the bottleneck between having something to say and actually posting it.

What it is not

It is not a robot pretending to be you without your sign-off. Every script that goes out under your name is reviewed by you first. It is also not a replacement for the videos where you want to be fully present, like a market update after a big move or a personal story. The clone handles the weekly cadence; you handle the moments that matter most.

Why consistency beats polish

Here is the uncomfortable math. A beautifully produced video every six weeks reaches almost nobody, because the algorithm and your audience both move on. Four simple videos a week, every week, in your own voice, keep you front and center when a retirement planning question shows up. The adviser who publishes consistently wins the mindshare, even when the other one has better lighting.

Clients don't hire the adviser with the best video. They hire the one who was in their feed last Tuesday, and the Tuesday before that.

How advisers use a clone week to week

  • Answer the question you got this week. Every client meeting produces two or three questions worth one minute of video. The clone turns those into content before Friday.
  • Explain one product plainly. Annuities, Roth conversions, long-term care. A calm sixty-second explainer beats a dense PDF every time.
  • Comment on what just happened. Rates, headlines, tax deadlines. Timeliness is what makes the feed feel alive.
  • Invite the next step. Roughly one in five videos should end with the same soft invitation: book a conversation.

The honest trade-off

A clone video is never going to carry the warmth of you telling your own story to a real camera. That's fine, because it isn't trying to. It exists so your weekly presence doesn't collapse every time the calendar gets heavy. Use it for the volume, save yourself for the moments that count.
